About ColorNest
ColorNest Painting and Construction was built on a foundation of hard work, community, and a genuine love for the craft. Owner Santiago Zapata got his start painting during high school summers right here in Raleigh, NC — a job that helped him put himself through college and, along the way, sparked a deep respect for the industry.
After serving as a law enforcement officer, Santiago developed something that has never left him: a passion for helping people and seeing real, positive change in his community. Construction became the natural next chapter — a field that lets him do exactly that, one project at a time, while connecting with the neighbors and families that make the Triangle home.
Over more than 15 years in the industry, Santiago saw firsthand the ways things could be done better. Too often, clients were treated as transactions rather than people. Quality was inconsistent. Pride in the work was missing. So he made a decision to stop waiting and start building — a company that would actually care, actually listen, and actually deliver.
At ColorNest, no job is too big or too small. Every project, from a single room to a full construction build, gets the same level of attention and dedication. Santiago puts his mark on every job, and that means something. It means you can expect craftsmanship that reflects not just skill, but genuine pride.
Our Process

1. Free Consultation & Estimate
It all starts with a conversation. We come to you, take a look at the space, listen to your vision, and ask the right questions. No pressure, no guesswork

2. Planning & Preparation
Once you're on board, we get to work behind the scenes. We map out the project timeline, source the right materials, and make sure everything is lined up before we ever set foot on your property to begin work. Proper preparation is what separates a good job from a great one.
3. The Work
This is where 15+ years of experience shows. Our team shows up on time, treats your space with respect, and executes with precision. Whether it's a single room or a full construction project, you'll see Santiago's standard in every detail — because every job has his mark on it.

4. Walkthrough & Approval
We don't pack up and disappear. When the work is done, we walk the project with you to make sure everything meets your expectations — and ours. We won't consider a job finished until you're fully satisfied.
